LAS VEGAS – When floods displaced nearly a half-million residents in the Philippines last month, UFC^® middleweight contender Mark Munoz could not stand idly by.  Filipino-American Mark Munoz was deeply affected by the devastating reports and teamed up with the UFC Asia Team and AuctionFrogs.org, an online charitable fundraising company, to raise funds for victims of the recent tragedy in the Philippines.

The online auction features autographed gloves signed by UFC stars including Mark Munoz, Junior dos Santos, Chuck Liddell, Chael Sonnen, BJ Penn and Nick Diaz. Fans can access the auction at UFCcharityauction.afrogs.org. Bidding ends Sunday, October 14, 2012.

Munoz was scheduled to visit the Philippines in August for UFC Manila Tour and the Balls Channel Meet and Greet.  The event was postponed when heavy rains caused major flooding.  Munoz, however, couldn’t turn away from the images he saw in the news and stories he heard. 

“I know Filipinos are a resilient people.  We will come out of this a stronger people.  We always do, but I cannot stand by and just watch and read about it,” said Munoz.
